Entry Requirements

Those interested in getting the foundation of the technology.

At least an undergraduate degree in any discipline is preferred.

Those interested must complete the application form, which Takshashila’s Academic Committee will review.

The Academic Committee will review the application form and Statement of Purpose.

The Committee gives significant weight to this response in their decision while reviewing the application. Hence, you are requested to fill this with utmost sincerity and diligence.


Fees

  • Standard: The full programme fee is ₹12,000 + GST.

  • Early Bird: The programme fee is ₹10,000 + GST

  • Limited scholarships is available for Nominated serving officers of Indian Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces. The programme fee after the scholarship is ₹10,000 + GST.

  • Fees, once paid, are non-refundable.

+ How long is the ECC?

The ECC is a 4-week programme.

+ What is the teaching methodology?

The programme is largely delivered online through live webinars.

+ How many hours of work will a student be required to put in per week?

There will be two live online webinars every week, each lasting 90 minutes. Students will need to spend approximately 2-3 hours per week on readings and preparations. Therefore, the total amount of time that a student will be expected to spend in a week would be approximately six hours.

+ What are the fees for the expert capsule course? Is there any financial assistance provided?

The programme fee for ECC is INR 12,000 (exclusive of taxes). For students, Takshashila alumni and serving members of the Indian armed forces the programme fee is INR 10,000 (exclusive of taxes). A valid proof will have to be provided in this case. For example: Student ID, Semester marksheet etc.

+ Is there any application fee?

No application fee is required.

+ Which university will award the expert capsule course degree?

The ECC is an independent certificate programme of the Takshashila Institution and is not affiliated to any university.

+ Is Certificate of Completion provided for the course?

No, a citation will be provided for successful completion of the course.

Admissions to the course are on a rolling basis. The last day for applications is Saturday, 07 June 2025.

His research interests include advanced remote sensing and geospatial policy.

Major General Dr. Siva Kumar Rachapudi (Retd)

Maj Gen Dr R Siva Kumar, an engineer, soldier, surveyor, and passionate scientist, dedicated 45 years to promoting geospatial technologies across government, academia, industry, and NGOs. He played a key role in establishing the National Spatial Data Infrastructure and advocating for relaxed geospatial data policies like National Map Policy 2005, Remote Sensing Data Policy 2011, National Data Sharing, Accessibility Policy – 2012 and National Geospatial Policy 2021.

Dr Vishnu Chandra

Dr. Vishnu Chandra is a Former Deputy Director General & HOG -NIC. He is a leading professional in the Geo-Spatial/ICT Technology & Services domain in India, and he has been associated with the National Informatics Centre, Government of India, for more than three decades. He led Geospatial enabled Digital Transformation Projects associated with rural development, land resources, environment & forest, telecommunication, roads, power & energy, and various social sectors. He was instrumental in setting up NIC’s GIS services. He is currently associated with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj for various geo-spatial initiatives such as Svamitva & Gram Panchayat Spatial Planning.

Recognized for his contributions to naval innovation, Cmde Golaya played a pivotal role in establishing the Technology Development Acceleration Cell and spearheaded initiatives like SPRINT and Swavlamban.
